Purpose of campaign

My media campaign will be on the FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia. The FIFA World Cup is one of the biggest sporting tournaments in the world. This campaign is key to drumming up interest and getting information about the tournament to the fans. I also aim get to know the target audience and this would allow me to be effective in knowing what is needed in the campaign.

The purpose of my cross-platform media campaign is to promote the tournament and create anticipation for fans across the world, but also remind them of all nations and key players in the tournament this is important as Nations can only take 23 players. The purpose is also to inform the target audience of the important dates of the FIFA World Cup. This is because there are a lot of dates that might interest fans when it comes to their nation and my campaign needs to accommodate people of all over the world and mis-information could lead to them missing their nation play.

My multi-platform campaign would start in April two months before the 2018 World Cup tournament. I have decided this as a lot of football leagues from around Europe end fixtures in April and by starting my campaign then will lead to the audience being excited and being left in anticipation by the campaign as the World Cup will be the next set of football fixtures for the football fans.

The FIFA official website is a good example of how to do a piece of media advertising a global tournament. The website uses the colors of the Russian flag, which show the consumer who hosts the World cup. The website also includes a lot of relevant information for the competition, which informs the consumer. There is also a footballing star, which will attract fans. One thing they could improve on is the navigation of the page and how hard it is to find stuff off of the main page.

Their Twitter page also shows them use the colour scheme of the host Russia, while also showing information to the consumer and informing them about the tournament, like the website, the twitter page shows a image of the world cup and a star player of the football world. Both these examples so incredible cohesion

For the dominant image of my magazine double-page spread I had to use the magnetic lasso tool to isolate Ronaldo from the background of the picture and put him on my magazine double-page spread. This meant I would get a crisp and more professional looking picture for the double-page spread.

This is an early draft of my magazine double-page spread that I got feedback on by the intended audience:

The feedback as shown above stated that the 'Yellow background doesn't go with the white writing" and ''''the red would "Work with the white and blue"
After this feedback I took the advice of the intended audience and changed the bright yellow colour to a red. This change was good as it really connected to the World Cup, using the Russian flag colours. The change and final draft is below:

I also had a draft article as seen below, this article for my magazine had various spelling mistakes and grammatical errors that had to be corrected before shown on the magazine campaign:

After I realized this I corrected all errors to make the article suitable for the final product.
