Front cover (with Evaluation)
The reason I went with a grey and gold colour scheme is because these colours are very popular in American Football and with this in mind I feel this would attract more people as it connects to the sports genre. I also feel the colour scheme gives the magazine a modern look and could attract people that are casual sports fans.
The use of the sports language “Bullet arm” directly connects to the sport American Football. This will instantly connect with fans as it shows the cover star is good in his field as the language shows that.
I used these particular fonts, as I feel they are modern and suit what I was aiming for when making a print sports magazine. I also feel they are quite simple, which is what I wanted as I want the dominant image, to stand out more.
The dominant image will be the main attraction for people passing by the magazine as it features a 'sporting star' and when people see a sporting star they will stop and look at what it is they're on.
I've also used the props of a Philadelphia Eagles hat and an American football, both these props are universally known and will grab the attention of a American Football fan as well as the casual sport fan. The casual clothing shows that he is connecting with the audience and that he is normal like the everyday man.
The selling lines and cover lines give more information to what the main star does and tries to get the target audience interested enough to buy the magazine.
The selling line uses the words "all of sports" to attract more of a wider sports audience into buying the magazine. it does this by using the adjective exciting which will leave people wanting to read more.
The indirect mode of address is to show sports fans that the “quarterback” is keeping his eyes downfield, which is what they do in game action.
The barcode is on there as this is a print magazine and all print has a barcode.
